Traditionally a quiet time in August many of the team got to take some well-earned breaks spending time on a round or two of golf, by the sea and all the fun of the fair.

Girls on Tour headed back down to London, this time to take in the Mama Mia party at the O2 Arena https://mammamiatheparty.co.uk/

Whilst not so lucky Diane had a long awaited, planned operation on her foot and was MIA for far too long – we missed you Diane! She treated us to a picture of her ‘Jimmy Choo’s’ for the next weeks!

Events included Paul’s step-daughter’s wedding, where he made a beautiful speech which brought tears to the eye, before expertly whisking the bride off for the first dance. Meantime Lucy fulfilled a lifetime dream and spent the afternoon on the world’s most famous steam locomotive – The Flying Scotsman, www.railwaymuseum.org.uk/flying-scotsman/ riding on the footplate and getting all the details direct from the crew.

The month ended with a Bank Holiday birthday for Liz and a visit to watch the filming of Gladiators at Sheffield Arena where she had the amazing opportunity to meet Bradley and Barney Walsh courtesy of her nephew who is the Producer of the show. And finally – the opportunity to clear everything up and get it back into storage for next year’s Marie Curie Tea Party – yes it will be back in 2025! http://www.marie-curie.org.uk/help/hospice-care/bradford e/bradford
