The British business magnate may not be everybody’s cup of tea but certainly the sentiment sums up why hands-on learning is so important in dentistry. Unless you have handled the equipment, practiced the procedures and perfected your technique in real terms, no amount of digital learning will provide the expertise that you need with patients in day-to-day dental practice.

That is why we believe so passionately about supporting dental education, loaning equipment worth £’000’s to dental courses running the length and breadth of the UK specifically to provide that hands-on experience. Despite the length of time we have done this, it can still be a logistical nightmare co-ordinating course dates with the right amount of equipment, ongoing alterations with course dates/venues/delegate numbers, vanishing couriers and far-from-helpful hotel receptions.

But it does just make our day when we get a thank you – here’s what the University of Edinburgh sent to us after our loanstock was with them for their Summer School earlier this year:
